Craig, any idea what the 'P' under the number board stands for? I love the shot by the way.

I do know that the "P" under the mileposts under the signals stands for!
These are Permissive signals, hence the "P". So, what does that mean?
A Permissive signal is one whose "stop" indication means "stop and proceed at restricted speed."

I think it means Passive since it would drop to red since there is a switch ahead that can be opened. Some districts allow a train to move pass a red signal but at a much slower speed.

Makes sense. Today they just have in the Rules - if a signal has a "number board" then it can be treated as 'restricting' (going at a speed not greater than, half the visual distance, etc. etc....) I never saw it that way. Thanks guys.
