Train is going east at West Hermosa and so these would be Clougherty Packing empties heading back to Nebraska and Kansas for another load of cheerleaders. The CLS (Calif. Livestock) handled the pigs going west and this is probably the CN (Colton-No.Platte) returning the cars. CLS ran in the evenings with the westbound fleet of van and mail trains and the ARRO auto parts train - all of which were powered up to run, unlike the lowly CN plodding eastward.
