Now that's interesting...I always wondered how much room you'd have if you moved an SD40-2 body up to where the nose would be on most EMDs...NRE has something for everyone!

It's also a B unit if you look at the writing on the cab door window. I've seen other NREX units with the same writing, but this is the most interesting one! Nice catch.

I think its rebuilt from an SD45T-2. Looks like they put an SD40-2 longhood on it.

Nice shot. It is the former SSW SD 45T-2 with a Southern SD 40-2 long hood and is an SD 40-2B although it is classed as an SD 40-2.
