Incredible as the work is, I’m most fascinated by the way they seem to leave the marks uncovered. Guess the thinking is their work is less likely to be repainted if they leave them? And, by the way, seems to be some loco in the back ground.

The engine in the background is one of the original ATSF Bicentennial locomotives. It has quite a rescue story. It was recently retired by BNSF. As it sat in the line being ready to be sent off to the scrapper, a BNSF employee who started his career with ATSF recognized the engine and traced its history. When he discovered it's history, he went to management and encouraged them to rescue it and have it returned to its Bicentennial glory. It sat on display in Kansas City until recently when it was transported to California awaiting its delivery to a railway museum there.
