Ironic they are being put to the torch while the switchers taking them to it date from the 1950s!

The irony is thick here, as the EMD switchers have to be at least 40 years older than those electrics they're hauling to scrap. I remember when those AEM-7s were new- something different and fun to ride behind, with a haunting whistle too. When I see this, it just makes me feel old.
