Does this mean that these units are dedicated DPU units and are no longer used as the lead units on trains?

They can still be a lead engine but they're equipped for DP operation.

Be nice if they cleaned the rest of it. They need to think like Ripley - "Oh, now I've done it - I made a clean spot. Now I'll have to do the whole thing."

When I was still working - The fact that engines were DP equipped was identified on their data records within the Locomotive Management computer application.
