I'm guessing this was somewhere on the north side of the Spokane River on the industrial leads that were left intact at that time. I seem to remember one lonely track that crossed Division street into the back of the park. Those leads survived into the late 1980's when the city started to revamp the area to divert northbound traffic from the Division Street bridge onto Ruby St and the tracks were removed. I was only 2 years old when this image was taken in 1974. All railroad traffic was diverted onto the former Northern Pacific elevated mainline through downtown Spokane, forming what is called the "Funnel" from West Spokane to Sandpoint, Idaho.

If I recall correctly it was located just below the old Carnation Dairy building on the SW corner of Washington and Cataldo. Had a season pass for the fair and went quite often. As a side note my pappy went to work for the Parks Dept at the beginning of the fair and was the one to climb up the Great Northern clock tower to wind the clock mechanism daily. Went with him a couple of times, quite a climb.
