It's amazing, too, just how quickly UP removed any evidence of Milwaukee Road ownership of this segment after they left in 1980. Woodworth switchstands gone, remaining centenary poles removed and all the Union Signal Co. ABS signals replaced with searchlight signals. And, of course, CTC implemented. By the time I was a teenager, and after I was made aware both railroads operated on this segment, I was under the impression that the joint trackage was originally controlled by UP since the line was so well groomed and UP style switch stands and CTC on the route. Even when the Milwaukee was still around, I only recall seeing Union Pacific trains. Nice shot.
