I have that car. I also visited the Athearn offices and production lines in 1977. Another fellow and I from Ohio made the round trip trek on Amtrak from Cleveland, Ohio, to Los Angelos, CA, Easter Sunday, and stayed for a week. Best of times as we got to see places we would never see again.

Shure wish these were still in use. These really had style and a real cool paint job. C''mon U.P. lets paint some of these up and get them out on the main for all to see. Remember when the shield on the side of the boxcar said Union Pacific Railroad and silver painted wheelsets. Thanks Craig. Thats just doggone purty !
