Great photo! When I was in the area and could find the time to do so, I used to park my rig near the tracks close to some grains bins there in Keenesburg so I could watch the trains when I was done driving for the day and watch the trains go by. As I have stated before on this website, this picture is one reason I loved driving my old 1977 Mack truck in the Mid-West and the West with my wife sometimes until she passed away in early 1994. We both admired the views like this while we saw the country making freight deliveries and pick-up's. Since I just retired almost two years ago, I miss seeing all the sites like the picture above. I have seen the beautiful sunrises and sunsets and each and every one of them is different day to day. I do not think a lot of people enjoy scenes as beautiful as this anymore as they as they seem to have their heads down looking at a cell phone or something. I absolutely could not have stood it if I had been in an office job and missed scenes like this day after day. I know that I already miss watching all the Mid-Western and Western railroads that you normally don't see in the eastern part of the country. At least, I have the CSX to watch on the KD Subdivision behind my house just north of LaFollette, Tennessee. There are not as many since CSX went to this "precision railroading" program but the trains are much, much longer with DPU's sprinkled in when they pass by the house. I still remember when coal was "king' on the KD but it is all gone now. Sometimes, I do not like "progress" as I consider myself to be "old school" but that's OK as I got a lot of memories and stories about trucking, trains, and meeting different people all over the States.
