Wow. That is an amazing piece of railroad history still going strong. And with original trucks too.

Yes, indeed, the Alco pictured is an oldie and a goldie! The Hudson Terminal Railroad is just off I-76 and northeast of Hudson, Colorado. I saw this switcher some years ago when I was still driving a truck and it kind of looked in pretty good shape then. However, I did not know that it is 75 years old. If I remember right, Hudson Terminal has another newer switcher on the site as well and both switchers were seen shuffling tank cars around in a fairly large storage yard. I have no idea of why all the tankers when I could not see any large business around the area that would use them. Switchers do not get the prestige their larger brothers do, but I like watch them do their thing. The closest railroad to where I live near LaFollette, Tennessee is in Knoxville. That railroad is the Knoxville & Holston. I went out driving around near the Vonore, Tennessee and discovered a older small center-cab locomotive parked just outside the building who makes coiled steel. Never knew it was there. Do not know if it runs or not. I do not think anyone has taken a picture of it to put in on Railpictures. Somebody should.
