Sweet, nice one Dennis.

Oh, I think LB would have been just fine with it. In fact, he probably would have sent a case of beer to the crew to make certain the engine was producing a nice, salt-and-pepper plume like this when they passed the photo spot. I'm looking forward to seeing this engine in-person. It will be our "Big Boy of the east", but with real smoke!

Ugly sucker.....in a wonderful sort of way. Lucius would have raised a martini while Charlie Clegg did the serious photo work. This used to be their territory, Charlie was introduced to Lucious at a cocktail party in D.C. hosted by J. Edgar Hoover. Thanks for making my day with a great image and loco I hope I get to see soon.

Another good black and white photo - nice location, good plume! The cluttered and busy looking front end of this Baldwin suits her appearance just right.

I love the flying pumps! The fierce countenance embodies the frightening brute power of any steam loco they are on. I also like the flying pump on the front of the Rio Grande class K-28s! So seeing one in action has pinned my fun meter.

Fantastic photo Dennis- congrats on the PotW. Who would have thought that we'd ever see C&O "flying pumps" again? It's not an F-19 Pacific, but it'll do. I think Beebe would approve. My all-time favorite photo of him is in his book "The Trains We Rode," where he is having a highball with Sheila Barrett in the bar car of the "Denver Zephyr."
