Hard to believe there was a time when the grates were deemed necessary - I guess part of what has gone to Hell had already been there. Nice roster shot - thanks for sharing.

Only FRA glazing made them "unnecessary." I bet the crews must have loved that feeling of spending their day at work in a cage!
