The picture sure is colorful with all the locomotives in the background along with the mid-1950's Chevrolet pick-up and the old style Texaco gas pump and even the old buildings make the photo even better. Everything in the photo is and was a class act in its heyday!

The truck and that yard were built in the 50'st. Silvis yard wasn't built until 1954 when the Rock was still striving to stay alive as a viable railroad. It was considered a modern classification yard in its day.
