They have desparately wanted to get rid of Thomasville to Waycross for years, but cant. Each time they try to downgrade it or move traffic off of it, it fails. I have no idea what even runs it anymore other than Q649, Q650 and Q651. Maybe an occasional autorack train?

In the 1990's CSX set up a Operating Plan that took all through freights off the Bow Line from Montgomery to Waycross and routed them on the Lineville and Fitzgerald Subs. In their mind it worked well - right up to the Friday they operated a Office Car Special Birmingham to Manchester to Waycross to Jacksonville. Left B'ham OT at 6 AM made the turn a Manchester at Noon and got to follow a fleet of 5 or 6 full size merchandise freights - that each had their own issues and the passing sidings were all occupied by Northbounds. OCS finally got to Waycross at 6 AM and all the officers departed the train to use automobiles to Jacksonville. Monday morning the Operating plan was changed to put two through trains on the Bow Line in each direction.
