"Power exemplified". Great shot Mitch! This is one of the few times, in my opinion, that it is appropriate to cut off the plume. I love the effect of the steam emanating from the feedwater heater exhaust against the cylinders, drivers and rods.

Black and white makes this timeless. Well done!

Just proves that a branch or a short line can recreate mainline steam action in all its drama and glory with just a bit of creativity and careful composition. To me the most obvious inconsistency are the two antique boxcars behind the tender....they are from an earlier era although might have survived long enough to get pulled by a J. Nice picture and well done in B&W.

Nice angle on the headlight, almost made me think it was around 1960, with a single bulb. The freight cars give it away. Too old. Great shot though.

Mitch, this is a great angle that I wish I had gotten as well. Well done!
