Nice series of 4-8-4 Northern class photos. I'm surprised that the tractive force of the 4-8-4 shown above isn't higher than 63,900 lbs.

The large driver diameter combined with the two axle leading and trailing trucks took a lot of the weight off the drivers. These locos where designed for high speed operation and had some 4500-5000 HP so whatever they got moving they could move it fast. Impressive machines for sure.
