Back in 63 when Mr. Bailey took this photo most of the ERIE blts were sitting on both sides of the freight car shop next to the Menominee river........they sat for a couple of years until MEXICO purchased them. When the Olympian Hiawatha was cut back to Deer Lodge in 61 and cut to Aberdeen in 63 alot of passenger EMD's went into commuter service and relieved the FM's off the locals and scoots.......in 74 when the F40C's were purchased this relieved most of the covered wagons......every time the Milwaukee had excess passenger power they re-geared them changed the numbers and placed them in freight service but I don't remember the FM's ever working freight...but I could be wrong.........the 90ABC -94ABC became the 60ABC-64ABC and so on......later they didn't even bother to change numbers after Amtrak and the F40C's........Tom.
