What is the purpose of the tower by the station? I don't recall seeing a tower with that design before.

The tower by the station is an old Reading Company dual arm signal mast. These were common along this branch, spanning Newtown, PA to Fox Chase, in Philadelphia. In fact, a few still remain and can be seen on portions of the expanding rails to trails path. Click here to see the one in Churchville.
