Interesting photo. I noticed the spacer car [boxcar] in the consist between the locomotives. The branch line
off of the mainline to Blacksburg had a trestle over I-85 which may have required the spacer car to help
distribute the total weight of the two locomotives. I think the branch line is 'abandoned' now.
