What's amazing is that these classic structures are still standing. It must be that SOMEONE cares enough about them to keep them from being demolished. Honestly, I THOUGHT they HAD been torn down years ago. Sometimes its good to be wrong.

AMtrak again served Grafton with the Washington-Cincinnati Shenandoah, trains 32/33 in the late 1970s-early 1980s.

Wow, what an unbelievable sight. I agree it is nice to see some of the heyday of railroad structures still surviving, and not just demolished to be replaced with cheap metal and glass strip malls.

These beauties make me realize how important the railroads have been. But there are a few tons of water on the roof of the station and they're going to start leaking... A roof is supposed to shed water, not collect it.
