From what I can find, SP 7306 is now BHP 3079, working down in Australia. As of August 2012, it was still working in DM&E blue and yellow down under in MOW service.

Steve, You have very good points! Why do even later model GE units (= 1970s onward) never survive as long as EMD units? Nobody has ever provided a satisfactory answer, and too many say that these GEs functioned mechanically just fine. If so, why do they get the torch? Somebody, please tell me. Meanwhile, over 80% of GpP8s soldier on from the 70s and keep getting rebuilt. Why not GE UBoats if they were so good?
