Even though that's obviously quite a variety of freight cars I'm going to comment on that. Also of interest is some already having lost their rood walks at this date.

All, thanks for your comments. You can thank my Dad, Richard, for the photo, though. I was a toddler at the time, at home while he was on a business trip to the Twin Cities. It's hard to believe that it will soon be 5 years since his passing, and reading about your enjoyment of his pictures means a lot.
