Nice shot, but I love LRC's!

Having been behind many an LRC on the Toronto-Ottawa run in the 1980s, I know from experience that they were not reliable in cold weather, arriving late or having to be rescued because of some malfunction.

Nice catch, Doug - but I'm with Michael, call me a fan of the "low slung" active tilt LRC's. They were the Genesis version of the Xplorer. They had an 80's retro futuristic look to them. Much nicer looking than the Amtrak Turboliners (though no where near as cool as the Amtrak TurboTrains). Granted, neither of those had Alco 251 prime movers!

I NEVER knew LRCs could MU with "conventional" power. We only saw them run singly on their Amtrak "test."

"... the ugliest locomotive to carry an Alco 251..." Sorry, that distinction belongs to the C643DH.
