Taking a ride on one is certainly nostalgic with the wood inside and the sound of the motors but still slightly odd crossing Ryde pier and through the fields of the Isle of Wight on 1938 tube stock! Their replacements, the Class 484s, use the bodyshells of former D78 tube stock built 1978-1981.
