I can think of many an engineer I know who would have gladly vacated that seat and said "It's all yours!" to the scrap gang... ;-p

But that view of the engineer seat does kind of inspire the question, do the diesels all Have To be hardtops, why can't there be convertibles? Just imagine putting the top down while going through the mountains on a beautiful June afternoon; or winding along the seashore as the mist disperses on a May morning. ;)
