Nice shot, but the BNSF anniversary scheme is lame.

Southbound coal load? What's that black stuff in the hopper cars? Oh, yeah, that is the black stuff I used to see every day on CSX's KD Sub running southbound behind my house between LaFallotte and Duff in East Tennessee. Since I've been retired beginning January of this year, only a handful of coal trains have passed by my place. Anymore, I don't hardly see any mixed freight either. I think CSX with their "precision railroading" technique have somewhat abandoned the KD Sub and are routing trains around it. Now the only thing that uses the tracks anymore is myself when I go for a walk. TheKD SUb used to be CSX's "moneymaker" as I was told by a railroad employee years ago. I wonder how much longer will it be before BNSF and the rest of the coal haulers will begin to phase out "black diamond" shipments. By the way, at least BNSF has paid tribute to all the former rail lines that made them into what they are today by putting the old railroad logos on the sides of 25th Anniversary scheme locomotives.
