The price you pay for running "massive" trains which become increasingly difficult to handle, particularly in these days of using dynamic braking almost exclusively to control train speed in order to conserve fuel. I wonder how many "crew starts" CSX will need to save in order to pay for this mess. Probably more than they have saved to date since implementing "PSR" multiplied by some factor, and probably a number that won't be reached before the next "massive train" mishap.

Although the opinion is true but, this line have seen it's fair share of massive freight traffic and, derailments between Atlanta, and Nashville. Back when Tilford Yard was a hub of attention, their would have been trains Like Q582, and counterpart Q581 would be at a great length of about 8,000+ and sometimes at times 12,500+ feet of train their were times in the past that derailments happened. A course this is on old NC/L&N trackage where track were bad, and holdout tracks weren't long enough to support these massive general freights.
