"Now BNSF has gone to the stupidity of combining coal trains that put DP units in the middle." What's the downside of this 2x2x2 arrangement?

I think BNSF ended that arrangement very quickly of combining coal trains.

How many cars are there in this train, how long and what would the load be? Much longer than we normally see over here.

Answer some questions...1st off this above is not a combined coal train, it is a normal 130-35 car coal train that has DPs in the middle due to the Rutledge Hill. As for BNSF combo coal trains they are usually 2 normal size coal trains and end up around 240-270 cars and up to 40,000 tons. Which on alot of the railroad they run, the grades make the train extremely challenging.
