Thanks for this post of this excellent photograph. Growing up near the BAR mainline I can remember these 2 units going by the house for several years before Ironroad purchased them in the 1990's.

I agree, excellent! Aging workhorses loaned out to the industrial heartland. Looks like they have some demolition refuse or recyclables in the gondolas.

Great photo.....clearly shows the Nathan M3 with it's BAR snow shields......I believe the BAR was the only road that had Nathan's with the snow shields.......Tom.

Very Fascinating, I wonder what the load in the first gondola is? Looks like Scrap but Scrap of what kind?
