I was only 3-1/2 at this time of this photo and barely knew what a train was. I would have loved to see more of this kind of stuff back then. The BN from its merger until about 1980 was so fascinating to me. You could still see a lot of pre-merger paint and all the 1st generation power you could want. By the time I understood more about trains, it was 1977 and most all of the power was under cascade green, and the Milwaukee Road (we lived along their Chehalis, WA sub) was just 3 years away from being history in the West. Keep these vintage gems coming!
