I ALWAYS loved seeing the "Green Train" with its matching green hopper cars AND green caboose, when it rolled through Columbia, SC on its way to the power plant at Eastover, SC. THANKS for the memories Cody!

I sure remember seeing the light green O & W locomotives and coal cars on the KD Subdivision (Corbin, KY to Etowah, TN) as well as the L & N in the 1980's. It was kind of nice to see something else running up and down the line. The Binfield, TN siding was a good place to catch them. And to this day, Binfield is still a very good place. You can walk onto the wooden overhead bridge on Binfield Road and watch the CSX trains coming and going for a about a mile or so in both directions. Every now and again, there will three trains all at the same time at Binfield.
