Sorry, but I would descripe them as extremly ugly. Industrial design at its worst.

I agree with elektromotive. Alstom has adopted some new constraints, which is OK. But these constraints are poorly managed from a exterior design perspective. Constraints: 1/ The power cars are short, because the technology is more compact and Alstom wants to allocate more train length to passenger cars than power cars; 2/ to reduce noise and improve aerodynamics, the power car carbodies are lower and bulkier, covering the wheels more than usual; 3/ there seems to be more equipment under the roof. All this make power cars look fat and bulky. In addition the power car carbodies are not aligned with the passenger cars. I think it is a bad design job. I am afraid that the same constraints and solutions are applied to the new French TGV, currently uner construction.
