I don't know why, but the fact that the vestibule is blanked off makes me chuckle for some reason. It's like they're saying "No... no, not this car. We're testing it, but no, we don't want you riding it. Especially you Dave. We know what you did with the last one."

Oh look! I shiny new piece of garbage! I shouldn't be surprised, but I still am dumbfounded by how stupid California is. I know for a fact that those old California and Surfliner cars are more efficient at moving people. Siemens cars: 76 seats. California car: 89 seats. The double decked cars are more efficient. I know this blabbering won't stop those idiots in California, but oh well. Thanks for telling us Marc.

It's only now that I realize that, unlike her sisters in Florida, the roof is corrugated down the sides.

I believe California plans to augment the the California cars and Surfliner Cars with the Siemens ones. The business plan for the San joaquin Joint Powers Authority identifies the deployment of 7 sets of Siemens Cars on the San Joaquins Service. I assume the displaced California cars would then go to the Capitol Corridor and Pacific Surfliner trains to ease overcrowding.

Certainly hope that is true Raymond. At least Caltrans still uses EMD F59PHIs on the Capitol Corridor. I hope they last as long as the California and Surfliner cars.
