A very interesting photo. Does it take all that HP to pull loaded waste cars ? In the center foreground there is a frog and rails. Looks like the buried track may have connected with the existing track at a point under the RS-30. Was this a 4 track yard area?

Dan, the amount of horsepower required to pull the train depends on the amount of loads, but the train runs up a 1%+ uphill grade while also having to stop and protect 6 crossings. The rails buried in the ground is one of the original yard tracks with a switch leading to a spot at the building next to the train. That was a customer ages ago.
