Looks like the Milwaukee Road crossing at Savana IL.

Ted, judging from the photo angle and line of the freight coming off the curve, this is the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy line through Savanna, Illinois and the diamond where it crossed the Milwaukee Road. This diamond is still there, only now there is a transfer track leading off to the left from the view of R.T. Steinbrenner's location and the Milwaukee Road line is now double-tracked and both lines are used by BNSF. Also, there is an elevated bike/hiking trail that crosses this diamond on an overpass, probably on line of the track the 4-8-4 No. 5632 is on and this double-track has been shifted/relocated a little to the left of the line pictured here. Mr. Steinbrenner would be on the right-of-way today if he were to take this photo. That curve view and scenery is still very much the same and hasn't changed much, and I'm pretty sure Bowens Lake is still behind that tree line behind the freight.

Pretty sure on Savanna, the tower would off to right of tender, Milwaukee roundhouse at back of photographer, CB & Q yard in direction of travel of 5632. Milw yard to left.

Great shot! CB&Q 152-A is a rare F2, not an F3. The three portholes are a dead giveaway and I double checked on the "Diesel Shop" website's Q roster.

Beautiful picture, and much thanks for all of the knowledge about the location. I just got done looking at google maps. if you look closely you can see the shadows of the both round house that were in the area.
