Gee, I hope railfans didn’t take pictures of it sitting in the yard.

What a disgrace! That unit will be going to UP Jenks shops for a repaint soon.

That are vandals at their best! Ain't got no respect for other people's property. The KD Subdivision of CSX is right behind my house in the upper part of East Tennessee and I watch a lot of trains since I retired some months ago from trucking. Every day practically, when a train goes by I see the rail cars with that disgusting, stupid paint on the sides of them done by vandals. Bridges, buildings, sidewalks, and anything else that has a somewhat flat surface has been "tagged". No morals, no respect anymore from certain people.

Are we becoming America the land of the sleaze.

The vandals obviously had plenty of time to do all that. UP needs better security wherever these units idle between assignments.

If vandals are caught doing this to a railroad car or a diesel locomotive, the penalty should be jail time, plus, pay for the cost to have the diesel locomotive completely repainted so it looks brand new.

The problem now is that vandals ARE often caught (or rather seen), but to APPROACH them with anything less than 5 well armed police officers yields potential bodily harm. (Unless of course, as has been mentioned, if the intruder merely wants to watch the action or take a picture - then get'em boys) So sad.
