Since I reside along the CSX tracks somewhat south of Morley where this picture was taken along the KD Subdivision, this section of the KD is very isolated and not polluted with human contact, traffic, or buildings at all. I will sometimes walk the tracks (yeah, I know, it is trespassing) back in the wilds. It is just you, the tracks, and the forest. You see things like streams, animals, plant life and so forth while walking the tracks that you would not normally see from a car. Again, very isolated. Everything is peaceful and quiet until you begin hearing that deep diesel growl penetrating the woods and the screeching of steel wheels making contact with the sides of the rails. And then, those big blue and yellow CSX locomotives appear thundering past you in Notch 8 and the smell of burnt diesel fuel permeates the air. That is when I am in heaven!! I have been a truck driver all my life beginning 1973. Now retired and have watched trains and seen different railroads all over the country while driving. I would pace trains with my old 1977 Mack along the Interstates especially out West. Even had a few horn blowing contests between my Mack and Union Pacific locomotives every now and again. Life is now confined to CSX and the KD Subdivision and I am perfectly happy with it.
