I suspect this was about the only location where one could find a GG-1 with a backdrop of semaphores. 4800 soldiered on into the Conrail years and was seen on freight trains daily as the lower numbered Gs were generally kept in the freight pool as demands of the passenger fleet lessened over the years. LV was out of the passenger business by 1961. Thanks for sharing these marvelous scenes from your Dad.

Nice photo of PRR's first GG1. Sure wish the Museum of Pennsylvania, who now owns the 4800, would get her indoors instead of keeping her outside in the elements. Thanks for sharing this gem.
