Interesting that the GP9 is ex-GN and the faded lettering on the side of the building says "Hillyard". The Great Northern yard in Spokane, WA that once paralleled North Market Ave was called Hillyard, named after the Railroad's original owner, James J. Hill. The main track thru Hillyard still survives today with a few sidings but the property is slowly being built over with industrial facilities (served by the railroad) and the start of Spokane's long proposed North Corridor expressway.

Looking at images from that day I've not seen text which says outright but this image and several others imply,at least to me, that 1267 was operating on its own power, is that correct? Along with that thought, photo 727069 looks like work in progress to see if 1268 would start.

The equipment was moved with a trackmobile.
