Thank goodness we didn't end up looking at THAT hideous paint scheme for BN's 25 years!

I'm probably one of the few people who liked this paint scheme. It looked pretty sharp on the SD45s. Although my favorite pre BN scheme is GN Big Sky Blue, this was a close second for me.

I really hated the BN paint scheme, was glad to see it go when BNSF took delivery of the GN inspired GEs.( l liked the barf bonnet BNSF 9647 though) BUT BNSF had to ruin a good thing and make their locomotives look garish with the over use of cigar bands, and then the swoosh, THAT IS HIDEOUS!! Only the Chessie System was worse than the current BNSF new unit paint, the repaints are OK. I grew up seeing PC black daily when I was a kid, so I guess dull paint is more my style.....

Makes me sad that we never got to see SD-45s in the CB&Q China Red scheme.
