Bill.....KCS Knoche Yard was a KCS/MILW Joint Agency......you wouldn't believe the paperwork on all the do's and don'ts that both RR's were supposed to abide by......basically though the KCS did just about anything they wanted and we on the MILW/SOO and I'll bet even now on the CP always ended sucken hind !@#!During my years with the MILW/SOO/MRL/IMRL/ICE and CP we had a Superintendent/Trainmaster team based there.....I hear they even got a Road Foreman there now...…...The CP had me out on the D&H back in the 90's based at Binghampton…….I got a call from Superintendent Bob Denny in KC who asked me about my weekend duty rotation in KC.....I told him I was out in NY and wouldn't be able to get there....he told me in no uncertain terms that I WOULD be there for Saturday and Sunday and he didn't care where I was......needless to say I hopped in my company car an old Chevy Celebrity with over 120,000 miles and made the trip to Kansas City in 24 hours.....4 hour stop for shut eye in a snow storm in Indiana,,,,,,I was back in Binghampton,NY on Monday afternoon...…..

I remember when the MMTC trucks were painted yellow after the UP streamliners came to the MILW......

As a retired truck driver, those old Ford 9000's were very good trucks and were fun to drive. I drove one for about a month while my old 1977 Mack was being refurbished. Now I get to sit in my backyard all day and watch CSX trains on the KD Subdivision just north of LaFollette, Tennessee. Listening and watching the trains, diesel engines screaming, wheel flanges screeching along the rails, train horns, and the smell of burn diesel fuel. Times is good for me right now!!

Thanks to both Tom and Dan for the comments. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in these, but to me they represented the MILW nicely and certainly trucking is an important part of railroading.
