I remember after the SOO purchased what was left of the Milwaukee Road a couple of guys from the coal group quit the SOO and started up the Indiana RailRoad. I remember them stopping in Nahant Yard(Davenport)to try to get my boss to go in with them.....these guys were all old Milwaukee Road Managers that had worked as managers all over the Milwaukee's 10,500 mile system and were extremely good rails.....You gotta remember that there were a lot of Milwaukee guys that weren't willing to let go of our old (MILW) property and new the possibilities that could be created...…..
