Anyone out there know what the numbers and letters below 4014 mean? I know what 4-8-8-4 is. But what is 1-68 or I-68 refer to? What about 24 24 over 32 and 540 DB as well? Just wondering.

DB refers to "Dickens-Barker", who designed this particular installation of an oil burner on a 4000 class engine. In regular service it would have read "MB" for the type of stoker the engine was originally equipped with.
