In Japan they don't have vehicle-train collisions, drivers there must stop (by law) at R.R. X-ings as a four way stop,at streets gates are placed at all four corners of the road, or crossings have gates that block the whole road, every road in Japan has a crossing gates, be it city or in the country, trains don't sound their horns at crossings, as much money railroad spend to clean up after an accident, you'd think someone would come up with something like this decades ago.
