Note that virtually all of the ex-Erie west of NY state no longer exists (and certainly not as a through route), in large part because of those five (5) man crews, and union labor's refusal to change those types of antiquated work rules when the EL was offered to Chessie, which resulted in EL being dumped into Conrail, which didn't want it. The rest, as they say, is history.
