I never noticed all the "oil only" absorbent pads that they have to lay out on the ground now days while they are lubricating the locomotive before your latest group of pictures. It shows how "loose" these locomotives were back then and how lubricating can be a large expense being a steam locomotive had to do this every 100 miles or so.
