A tell tale sign of how many slow orders were on the line as you were able to get all the way from Renton where you got a couple of shots of this same train in town and twice at the river just outside of town; then assuming you travelled at 55mph (and quite a round about way if you drove Hwy 18 and I-90) just past North Bend and a few miles up the side of the mountain to get this shot. Not sure if you had to hike a bit as well to get there. Thanks again for documenting this now gone railroad.

Indeed there was a hike to the bridge. And of course I would have never considered speeding.... But I did not check the speedometer along the way.

What a wonderful glimpse back into time, Bill! I sure do miss the Milwaukee Road, but I thank you for the memories.

What is your definition of a 'dead' train?

That was a term Milwaukee Road used to use for their "extra" freights to/from the Coast. I always thought it was sort of a derogatory term since andy freight brought revenue to the railroad.
