Little building to left was for the section foreman in CNW days. Some good Owanaka stories on the web. Interesting about high water as the town was abandoned because water from the creek was bad from some mining and water had to be brought in by rail. I spent some time on the hill waiting, caught but one train, it was summer and operations were suspended during the day.
