The BOSE frequently ran short. The Boston and Albany was mostly eastbound tonnage westbound empties for boxcars. During the New York Central and Penn Central era some westbound freights ran with up to 9 locomotives and three cabooses. I would say this is a quintessential Conrail shot featuring well liked EMD power on a familiar well liked bridge. Nice shot.
